Sri Sarada Secondary School, located in the heart of Chennai, at Gopalapuram, was formed in the year 1976, by the veteran educationalist Late Smt T. Vasanthalakshmi, supported by the inspiring guidance of Late Kulapathi Dr. S. Balakrishna Joshi. During the year 1976-77, Sri Sarada Secondary School was launched in memory of her beloved mother, Smt Sarada. The school got affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. History As the founder-President, the Principal and the Correspondent, Smt T. Vasanthalakshmi served the institution for over two decades, working towards the objective of preserving high moral values, tradition, culture and heritage, through the medium of education. Even from the year 1952, she had been passionately involving in the nobel profession of teaching and had served in different capacities and lead many institutions like Kesari High School, MCN High School and Adarsh Vidyalaya Matriculation School, all in Chennai. On health grounds, she retired as the Principal of Sri Sarada Secondary School in April 1996, but continued as the Correspondent and the Educational Consultant of the school. She passed away in December 2010, leaving behind a legacy of basic ethical values and meaningful goals. Smt T. Vasanthalakshmi Late. Smt.T.Vasanthalakshmi, affectionately known as "Aunty", was the Founder pillar of the Trust. She was a born Teacher and Educationalist. She had sacrificed her entire life for the cause of education. She started her career as a Teacher and rose to become the Principal of a reputed school. In the year 1976, she founded Sri Sarada Secondary School at Gopalapuram, Chennai, in the fond memory of her beloved mother Smt.Sarada. She was a victim of destiny, for, she suffered throughout her life. But she faced all the hardships with courage and moral conviction. Till her last breath, she had served the students' community. She never aspired for any materialistic wealth. Charity stood as the prime object in her life and she bequeathed all her ancestral property for the sake of the society. But for her presence in the Board, the Trust would have vanished a decade back. The Trust, for generations, will remain grateful for all her sacrifices.
